I seem to remember years ago getting a mysterious error code--I think it was the failed to save--and I do seem to recall it was related to the need to compact memory or data or something. Sorry I don't remember more of the details. I believe there is some loading and/or saving and/or accessing memory done other than when you are specifically saving patches and sequences. If it will let you compact memory, I'd give that a try (not for everyday use). If you haven't backed up your patches and sequences recently, I'd highly recommend doing that before ompacting. Sorry I don't have specifics, just generalized memories to call from. Hope this helps.
