If you have a decent system that can handle Ableton I would think it should be able to slave to the Command Station's midi clock. I have never used Ableton, so I don't know how it is as a clock master. Do you have OS2.0 in your CS? I have found it solved clock issues compared to previous versions. Of course, compensating for latency in software can be a major headache. If you are using a usb midi interface, there can also be problems with the way usb is implemented.
