The latest firmware (2.0) can be downloaded to all the Command Stations, and my XL-7 was running it before I switched the boards. It clearly announces it during startup so there's no need to retain the PX-7 logo just to indicate it's a more up to date machine. I agree, there are several features in 2.0 which really make it a dream machine, in particular make sequencing easier. In fact it was the sequencer which drew me to the XL-7 in the first place. I initially tried an Akai MPC1000 but the sequencer there has several limitations which I don't like - there are several operations which require the sequencer to be stopped, like editing, or even erasing a track. There's one thing though: I do believe it's possible to quantize a track on the MPC while the sequencer is running; the XL-7 stops if you do that, but that's more a question of setting up the right quantization in real time record to start with, so you don't have to do it afterwards. /Ricard
