Isn't the PX-7 a more up to date version. I thought the PX-7 was version 2.0 and the XL-7 is version 1.3. or ????..... I personally would keep the PX-7 flash screen just incase you ever wanted to sell the unit you could advertise that fact. Just a thought. Good Luck in your music making. You essentially have a PX-7 in an XL-7 shell and its still behaving like a PX-7. I am not sure you can make it think its an XL-7. Is there an eprom or rom you can pull from the xl-7 board? NOTE: I am not recommending doing this; I am just wondering out loud, as long as you asked the question. I've had to replace the main board in my machine with one from a PX-7, so it works fine, but comes up saying it's a PX-7. Not a major issue of course, just wondering if someone knows how to change the startup text. > > /Ricard >
