Well it is quite easy. Take e.g. an ATX 20pin or 24pin PC PSU. I used a PSU from my old Desktop PC. Here are the pinouts of a ATX 20pin PSU: http://pinouts.ru/Power/atxpower_pinout.shtml Then I cut the needed cables coming from the PC PSU. We need three 3.3V cables (orange or red cable) two 5V cables a +12V and a -12V cable. Also we need another 10V cable but for that I just used the +12V too. At last two ground cables (black). The PSU needs to be bridged with the green and the black cable to powerup. Just solder a black(ground) and the green cable both coming from the PSU together. Then the PSU always powers on when the switch is turned on. I used the cable from the Powdec PSU. I disconnected the cables from the 'plug' and soldered the cables from the ATX PSU to the cables of the powdec plug. Most colours match. I guess there is a nicer and maybe 'better' solution but for me it was important to test if the Command Station is working or if the mainboard is damaged. This test showed me that the CS itself is ok and i can use the XL7 until I found a better solution. Best would be a PSU which fits inside the CS case. Could make photos and send them... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "dutchbeats" <dutchbeats@...> wrote: > > that is great! can you tell the make of the psu and also any installation instructions? didn't someone say you have to bridge two wires in the cable? i could then make a faq in the files section. my psu is also on the way out so i need to do this myself. > > > cheers > > > markus > > > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "lz303" <lz303@> wrote: > > > > > > Ok. I am very glad to see that it is only the PSU which is damaged and not the mainboard of the CS. > > > > Seems to me that the Powdec PSU is not the best?
