Re: [xl7] Composer vs Sounds of the ZR

2011-04-16 by Matt

Composer is very general purpose... bread and butter sounds. if you want more specific:

orchestra:
9061: Siedlaczek Orchestra 32 MB ROM.
9085: Orchestral Session Vol. 1 32 MB ROM - standard in Virtuoso 2000.
9086: Orchestral Session Vol. 2 32 MB ROM - standard in Virtuoso 2000.
organ:
9083: Definitive B-3 32 MB ROM - standard in B-3.
piano:
9088: Sounds of the ZR featuring the Perfect Piano 32 MB ROM - standard in Ensoniq Halo

But it sounds like you only have one slot. If one rom can't give you everything you need you can either get a proteus 2000 rack module or you can get software, reason works great.

I have the phatt,xl,and beat garden and make hip-hop though the phatt rom is not really suited for me other than the bass and kit patches. I'd like pianos, organs, strings&brass sections mainly though guitars can be useful too. Any/all input would be awesome!

Should be able to compare them soon, as my ZR should arrive next week
and join the Composer in its native P2K.

However, I feel a bit surprised, that you make hip-hop and Phatt is
"not really suited for you". I found it really Thinn (rather than
Phatt), except for the drums and percussion - and it was the main
reason for me to order both XROM and QROM.
