(In retrospect I was probably frustrated that my peace-making efforts had no chance of ending the feud.) I've left 3 groups that way- Jay@Teklab's early synth groups which seemed to devolve in to knitting and gossip groups; (much respect to Jay- they were good while they lasted); the Unimog list (I enjoy off-road hardware) which was a 50/50 split between the most backwoods redneck stereotypes America could offer, and the rest trying to converse with them; and the Ducati list (I also enjoy on-road hardware). Oh the Ducati list- I recall calling the list-owner a Nazi at one point.. I bought a Ducati motorcycle for one reason: "I could spend 15k on a baseline model Saturn, or get the Ferrari of bikes". The people on this list mostly thought their shit transformed in to rain on the way down to vigorize God's green Earth like nothing seen before. Anyway, to create something remotely on-topic, I've been watching Portlandia (which is hilarious) and I'm struck by the title theme. It's an airy pad that as you can guess fills a background space- almost identical to the Gorillaz Stylo sound- It's been heard elsewhere and long before, but I'm a programmer and the mechanics of the sound are unknown to me- anyone want to comment? I want to say it's 3-4 "breath" style formants played simultaneously, but I'm just a player-hater and I love my TX-81Z. -- NUNQUAM NON PARATUS
