Recently been using just the cs and the esi2k and getting great results layering drums and doing synth with the cs. Cs has quiet drums as a whole, some patches better than others. Esi is loud punchy and warm when u turn internal gain up. Wish I had fx expansion and internal zip for esi. But not worth spending money on.
Are you using asr-x for synths too or just drums or all samples? Are you using internal sounds on cs at all?

dude you don't need all that crap. just keep it simple. anyways i can't talk myself, but i do try to keep it simple these days
anyways, well hopefully any CS users out there get on board with the whole ASR-X combo. i have another asr-x coming and i want to try two. why two? because the asr-x's effects engine only work through the two main outs. if you get the 8 out expansion all the outputs will be dry. which is ok for people with lots of processors. but it will be a sick experiment. all the CS's knobs throw CC's to the envelopes and filters of the asr-x's instantly. for some reason my were already mapped. weird. the results are very organic and liquid sounding. something that ableton is not. the Delay>EQ is my favorite effect. lots of warm fuzzy hiss going on there. great for atmospheric drone chords, etc
