Re: [xl7] Mutli-Track MIDI Recording from Ableton

2011-02-25 by Daniel Abatemarco

I'm familiar with the pros and cons of Ableton, but I'm wondering if anyone has had problems with MIDI notes in the CS choking off at the bar breaks. The weird thing is that it actually sounds perfect when the MIDI sequences are running in Ableton; I only have problems when I record into the CS and have the CS play the same sequences back.

Sorry I am rereading what I write and it sounds totally haterade. Basically ableton is bad at midi sequencing and has a bad midi implementation but great at sampling and phrase sampling. It can sequence itself and its clips fine but midi notes not so much. They hang on, or don't turn off at the right time. In my experience it helps if you have a badass computer, but not much.. ableton is mean to bounce down to clips and play those live.

Ableton is a horrible midi sequencer. Use logic or fruity loop or cubase or something.
