I have tried out disabling the USB2 support in the BIOS of the PC (I think then it must work as a USB1 or 1.1 port) and still no communication in the Eloader, (yes, XP SP3). Prodatum and Proteum (other Java based softwares) can't see the USB MIDI device either. At this point I give up connecting directly the CS's USB port to this PC. (As I remember there was no problem with my previous PC -Windows2000/USB1 ports... just to confirm the USB2 port and the newer OS issue.) Thanks for the intermediate device tip, I'm affraid I have to keep using the standard MIDI ports, I have no any instrument/controller with USB host ports. Andrew ps.: One more thing (If anyone may continue the investigation): during the installation of the EMU drivers, there were two device recognized: E-mu USB device, Interface 0 and E-mu USB device, Interface 1. I don't know it means anything at all, but now I can see only the interface 0 in the connected USB devices window. Maybe that inactive interface 1 could casue the problem?
