Fantastic.

Well the glowing letters disappeared but I would not miss them.

In fact, I was thinking on painting them in black.

I just adquired my THIRD command station.  I removed 4 of the six ears from them.

Then, I made bigger holes on his lateral sides, put two aluminium bars under them, and attached bolts, and ensambled them as a single unit.

but it looks weird, since they are the xl7, mp7 and pk7.  So is a single unit but in three colors orange-grey-purple.....

Six ROMS are installed on them.  So now I have a super sequencer with  900.000 notes, 3000 patterns location, 1500 user patch locations, thousands of presets, 48 track triggers,
384 poly,.... 48 programmable knobs, etc.

Now I must figure out how to  get the most of all this potential.  I'm personalizing each one of them, on a project that will take at least 2 years of intensive programming.

I'm a true enthusiastic owner of these instruments, and a very active user and live performer with them.

I adquire 3 of them, since I'm totally sure, they will cost a lot more in the next years

The synth market works weird (says the owner of a Fizmo and other weird stuff) and since EMU has a respectable reputation, and abandoned the market of hardware, I'm sure they will increase preice.

I think Matt new about this, or I meant to tell him.

My quest for a black Command Station continues.

I've been working with StyleFlip to do a few Emu skins for the Command Station, Emulator II, and Drumlator.
Here is my Ableton/Command Station skin done in black and white.  It's not 100% lined up correctly but I fixed it and it looks better.
It is removable and you can reply it as many times.  They use a special type of 3M adhesive that doesn't supposed to hurt the original finish.

You can have one done in several different colors or even put photographs and different fonts and clip art.
I wanted to keep mine really minimal.  You will have to lose your PX-7, MP-7, or XL-7 clear badge tho...  It is just held on with glue
and removing it with an exacto knife in a corner will lift it up or you can gently punch it threw the other side if you take off the cover and remove the LCD
that's held on with two screws at the risers.

The one pictured is just a spare MP-7 cover and my plans for my boutique black PX-7 goes a lot further than this.  This is just to hold me over...   :)

PS.  I am working with two other companies also for a couple more little surprises.   Not a big deal, but still sorta cool.

James
