yes you can freeze in grid mode, when the track is playing just hit the play button again to stop the grid, and play again to resume. 

It gets harder at faster tempos and higher grid resolution, you got to get good a punching in on time.

you can scroll through the bars, but i'm pretty sure you have to play the track to get to the 32nd notes and above,

please someone correct me if I'm wrong as I'd also like to find a more accurate way to edit in grid mode
