Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

hey, under "pattern" i set "both" to each track + i hear the knob movements i do in realtime (when recording).the knob movements so speak to my extrenal synth. do i switch to "sequ" it records the knobs but i cant hear them while recording, just at playng back...thats impossible to work like taht..
+ what changes in grid + step mode?
"proper values" i defined in the controll menue for each knob.
as mentioned: i hear them when palyin back, but not during the record session..
