thanx to person/s who moderates and keeps group spam free!
this group is great and a wealth of information for me.
I have been member for years and know my way around xl7 pretty well for my purposes(main hardware seq)- but I like to know and learn about other tips/uses.
- just recently someone mentioned random patch generator (in eloader?)- i will check it out...plus i havent backed up xl7 in quite a while.
cant really see what fuss/combat is about -if people dont agree...oh well.
whether you use custom roms or not this machine is sweeeet!!
I had a 2500 breifly before i switched to xl7- and a huge reason i wanted these was to burn custom roms of my original samples which would save space and set-up for live performance.
found it cheaper and easier to trigger external sampler...but more set-up and room needed. :[
There are so many uses for this machine that not everyone buys for same reason. (if not happy with sounds learn and utilize patchcords, or even try stacking sounds)
since i gave up on custom roms I consider xl7 more of an extensive and stackable inst sample library with good wave forms(4 cards in mine).
the yellow beast is mostly a brain for the other synths/drums in my set-up.
live sequencing/editing is free and easy-

Hey, Bob! Do you believe all the immature nonsense going on? I have been very polite and understanding; I try to maintain a positive outlook and try to do my best to help people solve problems/find work arounds with their gear, look up relevant previous discussions from the archives, etc. I have written privately to two of the verbal "combattants" with what I thought was amazing calmness and understanding. But it the nastiness seems to have spread to a third person (maybe more).
As I told you I am a believer of free speech and the thought of moderating people's posts really bothers me. And you shouldn't have to edit posts. I don't know what's gotten into people lately. We have never had this BS here!!!!
I also don't like the idea of booting people (except for spammers). If someone wants to leave, that is their choice.
Now that several people are on moderation, part of me wants to just take them off moderation and tell them to "Grow up." (Like I told my kids, I don't care who started it, both of you need to end it!) Yet, as long as its done, part of me wants to just leave it where it is. In any case, it is a waste of everyone's time. You shouldn't have to edit or even approve/reject thses posts.
My advice is just leave things the way they are--no more editing/approval/rejecting and certainly no more kind, understanding private e-mails to the "combattants." Let the posts just pile up no matter if they are inciteful or benign!!!!!!!
To echo what Greg said, thanks for trying to keep on top of it!!
