swing and comments

I should know this, but I would rather ask some power users out there. I've always had a few Command Stations around as I have always had other
sequencers. . But I'm really starting to weed out a lot of kit that isn't really all that great to be honest. I would say the sequencer is more
powerful than the MPC-3000 (yep, I said it).

Out of the SP-1200 and the MPC-3000 (two boxes out of the 3 legendary for swing (asr-10 being the other)..... also I should mention the MV-8800...
I feel the Command Station's sequencer has more groove than the above. I know because I have had all 4 in the last year.
But I have some questions regarding the way quantization really works on the Command Station. Is swing destructive on the CS? Is it post or pre Note On/Off?
On the Roland you have undo's on everything in real-time), etc. But with that unit being the exception, how are you guys implementing swing and
getting maximum (usuable) shuffle? How are you guys doing undo's if you commit to a swing setting? A lot of MPC guys on the MPC-Forums give their secret formula
for programming. Say 1/16 for kick, 1/16T on hats, Quantization at 57%, etc. . Anyone have any secret sauce recipes you want to share. I am doing my share
of groove in my programming now, but it seems a bit all over the place. But I am "almost there.". I'm so close to the sound I am looking.
The CS's groove algo's are powerful. I should really start looking into getting another PX-7 if this is gonna be more sole sequencer. I have owned all the Doepfer's and even the Genoq's Octopus and the PX-7 trashes all of them as far as groove, practicality, logical, price point, and boutique. Everyone brags how amazing the MPC-3000's sequencer is and how it's the king of swing. I would strongly disagree. I9;m having my cake and eating it too by using the Command Station to trigger Akai and Emu samplers.
All the warmth of a hardware engine with the CS's logical sequencer. I'm with E-MU.
