Re: [xl7] proteus 2000 rom buyers guide on ebay with target pricing

A person could take a Command Station Rom around the world in a ziplock bag stuffed in a backpack and probably go as far as almost swimming with the thing, and it would probably still be OK. But if you even sneeze around an Emulator II than you're in trouble! Talk about a machine that's flakey. I've had 4 of them in my life and it's like I have to wave around a chicken foot around the thing 3 times and chant in order for it to work right half the time. You don't know failing gear until you own one of those.

light bulbs, fuses, CPUs, CRTs, transformers/PSUs, etc have no moving
parts, but i've seen them all fail under normal use.

flash ROMs are generally durable (compared to flash RAM, or light bulbs),
but when they're not handled carefully they can pop like a fuse from ESD.
not to mention that just like most anything that's manufactured, some of
them are duds and will fail under normal use. that applies just as much to
hard drives and ROMs as it does to ball bearings and toilet seats.
