light bulbs, fuses, CPUs, CRTs, transformers/PSUs, etc have no moving
parts, but i've seen them all fail under normal use.
flash ROMs are generally durable (compared to flash RAM, or light bulbs),
but when they're not handled carefully they can pop like a fuse from ESD.
not to mention that just like most anything that's manufactured, some of
them are duds and will fail under normal use. that applies just as much to
hard drives and ROMs as it does to ball bearings and toilet seats.
