Of course. Command station is a instrument to explore. Patterns from 100-127 Bank 0 are made for this on mine. I also sample a lot of sounds from the command station. I have several synths with line in, so sampling several synths into a single sample is v something I do a lot. So I also have MIDI triggering specialized patterns, that bring sounds from the engine, and also activate patches on other synth. Also a test pattern, witch keeps c2 and several notes , during 4:000 length.. This is specially useful for sampling command station chords. I don't need to press any note, just turn on and off triggers to create chords. I also have a pattern for control changes. For example, a progressive increase on sound made by a change of volume, can be overwrite on other track without erasing its data. Have so much working with them. If you look on the web, I have invested a lot of time making "propaganda" for the command station. Is maybe my favorite synth. With a faster LFO, it will be by sure my favorite with no question at all I n fact, CS is like chilli. It goes good with everything. There's no task where the command station is useless. This instrument is conceived in such a brilliant way..... ________________________________ From: bobsvitilla <bobsvitilla@...> To: xl7@yahoogroups.com Sent: Mon, August 2, 2010 2:26:20 PM Subject: [xl7] Anyone work with a Command station like this? I was considering a new work flow method and was wondering if anyone tried something similar and found strengths or difficulties with it. I am trying to improve my ability in producing a freeflow/improve workflow with my XL-7 than just bring tracks in and out of a pattern flowing between patterns. I mainly consentrate on live performance. I was think of organizing patterns where all the tracks are a paticular part. Couple of just kick patterns, other paterns each with just: snares, tuned percution, untuned percussion, basslines, pads, sound effects, ect. Then use the Xmit function to build sequences on the fly. Thanks for any input.
