Re: [xl7] Another OS notion to relay to the database ...

Small problem.
PDAs are USB peripherals
XL-7s are USB peripherals
PCs on the other hand are USB controllers.
I'd much rather emu worked on fixing the glitches and bugs, making the os more usable in realtime and with external gear myself. I can't wait for the next version of e-loader either. Maybe the midi won't arrive garbled beyong repair.
- Has anyone else manage to patterns that play back in the xl-7 without the bar/beat counter changing? Several of mine stick on 0.0 depsite playing back. You can't change the length of them either, when they are screwed up like this. It was just a startight export from logic audio. Also, I can >never< get the tracks and channels to stick after working with them on a computer. VERY frustrating. It's damn near unsuable. Another frustration - editing midi patterns that then over-write the setup for other patterns, becuase the fx and otyher general settings get blanked. And another frustration - time outs on midi transfer. I can't get the transfer to work properly at all - I have to re-transfer nearly every file to get it across. I've tried changing the midi delay on the XL-7 from it's minimum to it's maximum with no improvement :<
- While tweaking the knobs and switching to patch view, I found that I was no longer tweaking the track I had left, but the pathc and midi channel I was viewing instead. OK. When I went back to track view, I found I was >still< tweaking the midi channel I had just left, even though the track had nothing to do with it. Even switching to another track didn't change this - I was stuck. I had to wait until I had switched to another pattern to get control back. This was live, at a club I want to play again, with the manager and promoters watching with folded arms... They still liked the set though :>
- Has anyone else here hit the on/off switch during a live set? I hit it every fucking night I play out. I think I'm going to have to make some make shift cover for it, unless it can be disabled. The record is the same, but I could live with that, if it was actually good for something on stage :<

Neat! Now imagine this:

They build preset editing stuff into eLoader and maybe even an enhanced
status display

and

Somebody rigs a stand to hold a PDA in a vertical position, a couple inches
above the back of the unit ...
