Hey, you can try copying the same midi sequence on different tracks, and use different sounds to get a layering effect. Tweak the sounds till you get something you like. Don't forget panning for some interesting results. ie get a 808 kick on track 1, pan slightly left, then get a 909 kick and pan slightly right. Adjust the volume of each one till you get something you like. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has made their own clicky one shot drum sounds.
