If you are panning at the preset/voice level, did you pan all the layers of the voice you want to isolate? Did you check to make sure there is no post combining of the signal or effect after the pan? Are any of the modulation patch cords moving the pan back over (like midi note)?
I'm sure there are more things I am missing here.....

Subject: [xl7] hard pan
i've got 3x stereo outputs on the XL7, and onboard effects that are
nothing to brag about. so i'd like to make the most of the 6 outputs and
use external effects. i'd like to be able to use this as something like 4
mono outputs + 1 stereo pair... or even 6 mono outputs.
checking with headphones, it seems that a hard pan in the preset still
leaves quite a bit of signal on the side i'm trying to mute. is that only
an issue with headphones? is there a way around that? or am i stuck with 3
stereo outputs because i can't *really* do a hard pan all the way to
either side?
