Re: [xl7] Compatible Synths and ROMs

2010-03-23 by D F Tweedie

Thanks Nate!

So P2K is the magic modifier.

I didn't know whether there were other E-Mu synths with ROMs that were incompatible. But I guess I can't go wrong with the 2PK. That should narrow down my Googling to something manageable.

I'm sure that Prodatum will work with any 2PK modules, so I'm sure it will read any 2PK ROM as well.

Thanks again.

      Hello DF
I'm not sure about prodatum, but the Rom cards in all the P2K synths are interchangable and compatable with the Command Stations. I have owned almost all the Proteus line of modules and had the cards switch out in all kinds of combinations.

I guess I'm just gonna have to 'bump' myself. Bad form, I know, but surely I'm not asking an obscure question?

Or, am I ignored because I admitted I'm not a hardware sequencer? :_(

      Hi,

I am a fairly new owner of a PK-7, which I'm primarily using as a sound module as I've only learned sequencing in software so far.

I frequently see various E-Mu Proteus line modules for sale on my local Craig's list.

Some of them sound interesting, but I'd like to have a resource to know which ones are compatible with Prodatum and which ones have ROMs that could be used in a Command Station.

Is there a general resource for this information?

Thanks

DF
