I'll be interested in any informed answers ... but as a general principle I think this is impossible.
There is only one 'sequencer' running at a certain speed for a certain length of time.
Certainly any section of the entire sequence can be looped.
But I can't conceive how a subsection could be looped while the rest of the band, i.e., sequencer 'plays on.'
There are VSTi midi devices like 'Loopazoid' that sequencers that permit mixing of audio and midi data on a single track can host. The 'Loopazoid' instrument will do what you describe.
