I aggree with Alwyn about the JJOS new functions, but all can be find in a softwares. I don't think music is a story of features and equipments, but equipments are ways to transalte your feelings in music. So, look to an old but up to date machine, it's more reliable and you can make good music on it. I've the mpc2kxl with the effect card and the CF card reader, and all is perfect, no need to have 128mb of samples or new sequencing features. The 2xl price is quite low now and a lot of user have already done the upgrade with the CF reader, so you can have one for $350. I forgot, Alwyn you say "it seems to have added a bunch of nice synth" but it's wrong, news are based on the workflow and options. There is no synth in a MPC500/1000/2000/2500 or 4000, only in the 5000 one.You only have an intern effect card by default in the 500/1000/2500/4000 and in option for the 2000/2000xl ones. Regards. Good luck for your choice. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Alwyn <zardac@...> wrote: > > Kinda OT, but also not, > > i have the XL7, and i love its sequencing and immediacy of the sounds, > but i'm now wanting to use a sampler.. i've been looking at the > aftermarket JJOS 2.0 for the mpc1000 and it seems to have added a > bunch of nice synth and sequencing features like the step sequencing > screen etc. > (http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/ JJOS website) > > Is anyone here able to comment on the similarities and differences > between the two devices? > > Cheers, > [zar] > > > 2008/7/14 caldwell_jm <caldwell_jm@...>: > > I have the MPC 4000.
