Yes, we do have 3 moderators who have been doing a great job of keeping spam and spammers out. For that reason, I was aghast to see the generic "You are invited to join Facebbok . . . " message here.

I guess Bob and I will have to agree to disagree: to me adding a Yahoo! Group (such as this one) to one's list of facebook invitees so that a generic "You have been invited to join Facebook" goes out to everyone on this list (via either individual mail or an e-mail digest) consitutes spam. To me it is not very different from someone who send a message inviting users to visit sex, finance, and other assorted websites that have nothing to do with E-MU gear/Command Stations.

We do have a Links section here with a folder where users can place links to sites that host their own music (not the music of their favorite bands or artists).

I am not sure who deleted the invitation to join facebook here first, but I also deleted it. As well, I followed the link in the message that said don't send any more invitations to join facebook.

If others feel that posting links to facebook sites are what they want here, I suggest that facebook members post links in the Links section.

Consistent with our signup procedures, I think that anyone who wants to post a link to their facebook site could leave a message here describing (1) who they are, (2) what they have at their facebook site that is of interest to other E-Mu/Command Station owners, and (3) saying that they have posted a link to their site in the links section.

The recent generic "You are invited to join my facebook site" message was posted by someone who (so far as I can tell) only posted one message here a year or so ago. That message was a tertiary reply (a reply to a reply) that was less than a dozen words and contributed nothing of substance.

It took a while to finally get rid of spam and spammers here, and I'd hate to see this group become a repository for generic "Join my group" mass e-mailings.
