before I could read your posts I found a solution to this missing-
note-subject:

Saving the pattern in cubase as midi-1-file (not 0) with a resolution 
of 1/384 and all drum note durations to 0.0 064 (shure you could go 
down to 2 ticks, I guess), all program changes deleted, did the 
trick. And here we go: the mp-7 playing my pattern nicely with all 
notes included.

Thank you guys. You have given me other hints I will try out as well. 
No doubt I am facing cubase problems as well, its a public beta and 
I´m trying different software sequencers before I buy. Funny enough,  
I had cubase lite, cubase 5.1 and cakewalk sonar crashed several 
times on my computer, maybe it has to do with my win98...? What would 
you suggest as the easist to use sequencer to go with the XX-7? 
cakewalk or cubase or?
