In the P2500 group over the years there were guitarists who used foot pedals, though I am not sure which ones and I don't recall how they used them. (I would just look up the manual on line and give ideas on how to get the P2500 to interface with it.)

The foot pedals range output values from 0 to 127 (just like the 16 programmable knobs on you CS). The buttons are simply on/off representing the values 0 and 127 (if I remember correctly). In set up mode, you tell what CC you want each pedal and each button to be.

Or, I might use one pedal to control cutoff frequency and one to control resonance. Using the E-Mu's patchcords, one button might switch 1 layer and octave up and another layer an octave down. Other buttons would do other things, such as turn on/off FX.

Also, I often thought it would be nice if my controller could be programmed so buttons would send out a value of my choosing, not just 0 or 127. But since the E-mu synth engise of so wonderfully programmable, I found 0/127 switch worked for me.
