Thanks for the tip... unfortunately though, it still wont launch... grrrr.... I even tried compatibility mode for W2000, and NT, with and without windows access control activated...with and without running it as administrator...etc.  I'm wondering if it just doesn't like running on an intel chip... ever heard of any compatibilty issues?  I think I'm probably just SOL unless E-mu releases an updated driver or patch.
