AHA!!!! I found what I think is the original that you were interested in, too, Tom. I did read it when it first came out and didn't reply because: (1) I have't worked with a Mac since MAC OS 7.5. (2) I have had my own problems with getting e-loader to work with the usb port on my XP PC and so I haven't used it in a while. (It worked fine with Win98.) I was hoping that someone with Mac experience could help, but I guess I was mistaken. And to be truthful, I didn't get as far as the question about ROM Patterns. (Mea culpa.) Even if I had, I don't have most of the ROMS mentioned and could say much about them. Here's what I do know that relates to the question posed (re: ROM Patterns): ROMs have samples/multisamples called ROM Instruments. You cannot access the individual samples unless you put the ROMS in an E-Mu EOS/E-IV Sampler. ROMs also have P2K synth engine based presets. They may also have RIFFS (aka Audition RIFFS), ARPS, and Demo Tunes. These last 3 could be considered ROM Patterns, though I am not sure if that's what Christopher meant. RIFFS are not editable inside the E-Mu Sequencer unless you record it into a [user] pattern by taking the midi out and piping it into the midi in. (This has been discussed several times and should be described in the archives. I will look for previous discussions if anyone is interested.) In addition to ROM-based ARPS, you have slots for user ARPS. Evidently there are a couple of versions of the TSCY ROM, based on a question that came up in another group. I believe one version has demo tunes and another doesn't. There is discussion about this in the Orbit 3 Group. You will also find docs that I haven't seen anywhere else, plus ARPS (which will work with other ROMS). I highly recommend that if you have TSCY and Beat Garden, you get the docs. (I don't, but I will create some folders in the file section heere and will try to make some time to upload them.) Even though this is a belated reply, I hope it helps, at least with the ROM patterns issue. (Sorry; I cannot offer any help with the Mac/e-loader issue.)
