Re: E-Mu Sequencer + Proteus X

2009-02-20 by steve_the_composer

Mom used to say, "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
It was only after she passed away that I realized, "Hey! Who wants
flies in the first place."

Anyhow, I apologize if I raised an issue on a new topic while there
was an unanswered or unresolved question or quandry from a month ago.
My guess is that I saw it and had no idea on how to answer it and/or
assumed that others would chime in. I will go back and revisit the
thread to see if I can add anything useful.

Sorry you are/were frustrated, Tom. And, yes, I can be a bit of a
jerk--it may be the Asperger in me.

BTW in case anyone is interested, I am still exploring the use of the
E-Mu sequencer to drive Proteus X2. Since the software can handle 64
channels using 4 midi ins, I am experimenting with ports A & B
driving channels 1 - 16 & 17 - 32 respectively, and a usb keyboard
driving channels 33 - 48. At some point I may try driving channels
49 - 64 from a midi sax. For those (like me) who like hardware knobs
over software knobs, the 16 controller knobs work great.

So, if you have a Command Station that cannot read ROMS, but can
output sequencer data and controller data, you might want to consider
this option. Since Proteus VX is free, it couldn't hurt to give it a
try (though you only get 16 channels, among other limitations of the
lite version).
