What is it with you people? Do you hear ME, there was a question that someone sent about a month ago and I wanted to know the answer too, nobody responded, are you just jerks or what.... I am the biggest fan of EMU gear and nobody cares. TOMTEL (the TEL of The DOGG) says whatever....?????

It looks like there may be some interest, so I will share what I have
done. So far I have sent audition riffs (using trigger/mutes) and arps
to the Proteus X. I have also sent a sample pattern using a pattern
template I had that routes all tracks externally [with dummy data on
each track so they don't reset to internal].

Since Proteus X has 64 channels (v. 16 on Proteus XV), I created two
pattern templates (External->ProtX- >A and External->ProtX- >B). At this
point I am not sure that my XP PC can handle as much data as the E-MU
hardware. Time will tell, if I continue experimenting.

As for problems installing the software and getting it set up, I also
had problems. I think I ended up installing and uninstalling the
software a couple of times. At one point I e-mailed or phone Creative
and they gave me some suggestions.

Also, I tried putting in a couple of older sound cards into my XP, but
that seemed to strain the Proteus X. Sonar 6 handled the additional
cards ok, but it seems to have a more well designed audio card
profiling feature. I could tell Sonar which audio channels to use.
There was no way to tell the Proteus X software which audio channel to
use, so I think the drivers got confused. (All WDM, no ASIO.)

To clarify, my version of Proteus X [actually 2x] says that the
Creative/E-Mu interface [Xmidi2x2] has to be connected in order for the
software to work. I believe this is true of other non-free versions. Th
XV version on the other hand, does not require the interface.
