To the best of my knowledge, riffs are stored on ROMS, not user memory. Ergo you cannot create your own riffs--other than creating patterns. There have been a few discussions for people who wanted to tweak factory riffs. One way to do this is to pipe the riff out midi and record it as a pattern. (For one related discussion, see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/17669.) I am not sure why the OS lets you switch to User for Audition Riff. Hmmmmm. The artist now known as Takerith has not been a member here for at least a couple of years. Hope this helps. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Atom Smasher <atom@...> wrote: > > if i go into > preset edit --> audition riff > > i can select "XL7" and get a list of the factory audition riffs. i can > also select "User", but instead of a list i see "(not installed)". > > obvious question: how do i write my own riffs and save them into a user > riff? > > the closest thing i can find is recording a preset riff into a pattern, > but that's the opposite of what i want to do. > > > -- > ...atom > > ________________________ > http://atom.smasher.org/ > 762A 3B98 A3C3 96C9 C6B7 582A B88D 52E4 D9F5 7808 > ------------------------------------------------- > > "Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest > of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest > good of everyone." > -- John Maynard Keynes >
