Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hello Everybody,

I'm not really an owner yet, I'm waiting for my XL-7 to arrive but I
already make plans what to use it for.

I am a guitarist and play a traditional rock'n'roll live with a four
piece band and at the same time make electronic music at home. I used
to use synths, samplers and sequencers a few years ago but I sold them
all and now I use only a laptop. Recently I decided to try to put the
two worlds together: I want to be able to perform live alone, playing
my beloved classic rock'n'roll tunes with a guitar and XL-7.

I'm not sure if this Elvis-meets-techno hybrid will work but even if
not, I will happily incorporate E-mu in my laptop productions.

I'd like to ask You a question for the beginning: is it possible to
program Control Change messages along with all the musical data in a
song and route them (only them) to one of MIDI outs to change patches
in my AdrenaLinn guitar FX? What I'm thinking of is a fully automatic,
synched to tempo guitar-groovebox setup. When there's a time in a song
to change from clean sound to distorted, it gets done with a command
sent from XL-7 and I don't have to do anything manually (well,
foot-ally in fact;)

Does it makes sense?
