in any of the 4 slots, it sounds like something on the main MP7
board....was power was off when you removed/installed the roms (via
the rear switch) and you didn't see or smell anything when you first
powered after installing the XL7 rom the first time?

would now will not show since i tried to install the xlead. Its not
even in there anymore and the mp-7 rom still will not show up. It has
to be the board everything else works it triggers midi , the lights
all work , the ram test was fine , the fx is good the only thing
wrong is the unit will not read roms. I dont know how this could of
happened by just inserting then taking out the xlead. I want to try
to get this figured out before i ship it off for a 75 benchfee just
to look at. I iwsh i had another unit so i could check the roms but i
dont even know anyone around here with a rack. The manual offers no
info and i could not find anything on the web i have been digging for
hours.

you tried both an MP7 rom and an XL7 rom and neither were recognised
by the MP7 control station?

Ok so i just got home from the music store and got a yamaha usb to
midi adaptor and it works fine i tried it with another item but now
the midi on the mp7 is not being recoginized so i cant even do the
update with e-loader. It is receiving midi in messages but not midi
out ( i think ) I tried the midi diag. and it says midi loop failed
and the mp7 does not show up anywhere. I also tried to just it as a
control surface and trigger sounds in battery but no luck there
either. I even took out the rams and cleaned the chasis with contact
cleaner carefully this morning them put them back and hoped it would
work. Any other suggestions before i send this off?
