I don't think you'll be disappointed if you get the MP-7, it's not like it
crashes that often, if at all for most users. I trust mine in a live
situation on almost a weekly basis, if that's not an endorsement, I don't
know what is. Two things to keep in mind:

1. People here like to complain about this and that, but only because we
know the higher powers are listening. I honestly don't think that XX-7's
are lacking that much in any area since the 1.18 OS came out.

2. Most (not all) but most equipment is going to have some weird issues
now and then, even a lock up. I've used most of the "groove boxes" out
there,a nd with the exception of my ER-1, all of them have locked at least
once for no apparent reason. Considering how powerful and well rounded
these things are, and that they're made to interface in so many different
ways with other gear, you're bound to get the occasional hiccup.

rEalm

i'm about to buy the mp7 and get a bit worried after reading this. i
want to use it as a standalone sequencer for live use... can't have
those crashes you're talking about...
if rEalm is right about ext. sync "causing" these crashes i'm not too
worried, so what i like to know of nifflas; has rEalm got a point
here or are you using the xl-7 as a stand alone device too, and still
getting these crashes?...
