The XL7 rompler is among the most powerful around, but for me it's almost too powerful- 10 different filters and 4 layers with all those mod capabilities just make my head hurt- i usually end up hitting "random" over and over and just listen to what comes out when I use it for its sounds. 2) FX: the outboard sampler and synths run back in to the XL7 and hit the FX (these are old synths with no fx) so I can smack em with distortion and reverb. So yeah- as a hardware sequencer, in my opinion it's pretty untouchable.
