Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I just got a XL-7 from eBay.  Ver2.0.  The previous owner customized
it a lot, and I can't get it to do even the Instant Gratification
stuff in the manual.  The pads work and I can hear sounds, but not the
sequencer.  The unit's in perfect cosmetic shape.  In other words I
don't think there's anything wrong with it, just settings and programming.

Hello E-mu-ers,

I'd like to start with a clean slate and restore all factory settings,
sequences, and patterns.  I've searched here and have pieced together
advice, but I'm still nervous.  I see that I can go into Diagnostics
mode and Initialize User Data (#16).  Is that what I want?  I'm just
making sure so I don't screw up.

If the previous owner deleted factory presets, then are the ones on
the EMU website what I want?  It's not totally clear.  And does that
group of files restore all the factory settings.  I see files for
Preset Banks, Songs and Patterns.  

Or would you recommend I wipe it clean (17.Init Except Sequences) and
then load in the files from the website.

What does 18.Reboot do?
