I think I've figured out what is happening to those of you who say your
presets aren't being saved. If the sequencer points to FACTORY presets
(i.e. XL-7, MP-7 or P2500, instead of USER), when you save a preset, the
sequencer is still pointing to the old factory preset that didn't
change. Moral of the story? If you want to tweak/edit presets, make
sure you point to them with the sequencer.

The seventh screen in the GLOBAL menu chooses send bus selection per
preset. The 12th and 15th screen decide how much of each send bus goes
to the FX engine. All of this data gets saved with the pattern. You
should study the diagram on page 212 of the manual. It is your friend.

I understand that you're confused about the FX and disagree with the way
that they are routed, but this will never change in this product. The
FX routing is governed by hardware. We cannot download new hardware
into your MP-7. There is no send LEVEL per channel, only a send
SELECTION. Sorry, this is just the way it is.
