Hi, This "you can record 16 x 2 midichannels per track"-feature of the XX- 7 gives food for thoughts: Some of you remember the Rm1x (whatever;-)) Couldn“t you set up the patterns the same way like with the yammie? That means for example: You load on track 1 of the XX-7 a file with - say - 8 different kick sequences, each of them adressing a different midichannel, track 2 with 8 different snare patterns, track 3 with hihats etc.. You could go on up tp track 8 (the other 8 tracks left for bass, synths, etc.) If there was a quick way to mute and unmute the midichannels on each track, you could mix new grooves like from a construction set - as long as unmuted channels do not interfere with unmuted channels on the other tracks. Has anybody tried this? I just found an option to set the volume to zero or is there a mute funcion somewhere. Or is the whole concept crap? Just was an idea... what do you think? HEinrich
