J.

maybe i didn't completely understand your post...

i have the same needs i think (want effects on some outs, and need dry
outs as well, want to change this set up between patterns for various
effects, and presets.)

i sort of solved this problem quickly by dedicating my outs as aux
sends in the master effects section.

this way i get:

Pattern 001
Mains (Send 1): light verb
Sub 1 (Send 2): Dry (drums)
Sub 2 (Send 3): chorus (bass)
- (Send 4): Delay

in pattern edit i no longer have control over what amount of effect
happens, but i do have the ability to send my Tracks to Send 1 and Send
4 as needed.

i save this setup as "demo setup 1"

and save the pattern.

move to pattern 002

i set up:

Mains (Send 1): flange
Sub 1 (Send 2): Dry (drums)
Sub 2 (Send 3): dry (bass)
- (Send 4): Delay

save this as "Demo Setup 2"

and save the pattern.

now when i recall, i have my effect routing and output routing all
sorted out.

i don't really know why it works, again the manual wasn't helpful.

but it sure sems to solve my output and effect send issues

still, i agree that the effects would be cooler if there were some midi
control over them.

and i am GLAD i missed the proteus debates...

hope this is at all helpful.
