Diagnostic questions: Which ROMS do you have installed? Do USER presets have the same problem? Do all installed ROMS have the same problem? Have you looked at the *.ins files in this folder: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/files/Command%20Station%20Data/ Compare your *.ins definitions with those in p2k-all.ins file. It sounds like you are not using the right bank switching values for the ROMs you have. When Sonar tells the MP7 to switch to a bank that you don't have a ROM for, that's the message you get (ROM NOT INSTALLED). ============================================================= EXAMPLE [exceerpts from *.ins file using AOrch ROM in P2500]: .Patch Names [E-MU P2k: Advanced Orchestra: Bank 0 (8448)] 0=cmb:AdvancedOrch 1=cmb:Traditional 2=str:LegatoString 3=cmb:Orch Split etc. .Instrument Definitions [E-MU Proteus 2500] Patch[8449]=E-MU P2k: Advanced Orchestra: Bank 1 (8449) Patch[8448]=E-MU P2k: Advanced Orchestra: Bank 0 (8448) ============================================================= AOrch MSB = 66 [Find MSB of ROM by pressing audition] 66*128 8448 Therefore, Bank 0 of the AOrch ROM is accessed as Patch[8448]. Bank 1 is Patch[8449]. If you try to switch to bank 8457, the E-Mu will look for bank 9 in the ROM whose MSB is 66 and you will get the ROM NOT INSTALLED message. If you try to switch to bank 9, the E-Mu will look for bank 9 in User memory. You may know all this, but maybe not. Hope it helps. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "sounddaddy2" <sounddaddy2@...> wrote: > > I have loaded several .ins files into Sonar ... I see everything > fine ....
