Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

1. Can someone walk me through by using a midi controller for just recording the bass parts on the XL-7? I use the pads on the Command Station for Drums but I would like to use a keyboard for the bass parts, and when I do I get the wrong bass sound that I wanted, is there any thing I need to turn off in the midi section?
   
  2. Can the Emu control my eq parameters in Sonar 5, by using the 16 knobs on the Command Station? I just get tired of turning the knobs with my mouse
