That sucks- fucking Oakland crackheads...

Anyway- my advice to you is to get renters insurance, and then when  
something happens again inflate your claim incredibly.
Insurance is a crooked scheme in the first place, so have no regrets  
about taking an insurance company for everything you can :)

And I'm in the bay area- I'll keep my eyes out-
