Aaron is (of course) right!!!

Along with embedded sysex commands (see Files | E-Mu LAW), I played 
around with storing and playing back patch parameter sysex banks to 
external gear.  (It was years ago, Casio CZ data if I remember 
correctly.)

Also, you cannot edit sysex commands from the E-Mu sequencer.

But the method Aaron describes (software sequencer --> e-loader --> E-
Mu) does indeed work!!!

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
