If you think your global options are set to strange values, reset them by simply restoring the factory multisetup (#63). Remember that if you don't have sequence data on a track (i.e. a note or controller or something) it won't save the preset for that channel. That's by design (though a choice I regret considering how many people it's confused). -Aaron PS. compacting memory will never fix anything. It's only to defragment memory before going out live so that compaction doesn't run automatically while you're in the middle of your set. If it says it doesn't need it, it really doesn't. --- gonzinigonz <gonzini@...> wrote: > ooops yes your right Chris, bit less hectic than starting again.. > > >Sure I have to buy a midi interface to back up things! > cool, you wont regret it > > >since now I haven't do back up, and I will never try again to send > >sysex without doing back up before! > always.. > > >now the question is: do you think that a reset would give me back my > >xl-7 as before, or memory has became phisically corrupted? > Well you will lose your sound banks as i dont think theres a level of > reset that will leave them intact. > The other level of reset will leave the user pattern data untouched, > but if this is were the problem is then you wont have much choice. > As long as the unit dosent have other hardware problems a reset > should get things back to a clean slate. > You will have to reload sound bank data though.. think the presets > get copied over to the user banks when you reset. > Also if you do the whole memory reset the pattern data will have to > be loaded back as well.
