Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi All:
    I have been searching for an XL-7 and have not been able to 
locate one. Because of this I've been seriously considering going 
with the Proteus X software instead. My basic question is how well 
does the Proteus X compare with the general sounds and performane of 
the XL-7. I am primarliy interested in techno/dance bass and drum 
sounds. My guess is that the Proteus X either comes with these 
sounds or they can be added with the additional software packages. 
But do they sound as good on software as they do on hardware? This 
can be a problem with some software packages. I also understand that 
I will not have the pads which the XL-7 have for live work but with 
an assignable midi keyboard my guess is I maybe able to compensate 
for this. Thanks for any advice on this.
