Definitely don't go with USB, not enough
bandwidth. The Audiophile 2496, for the price, is another
very
good choice, especially since it probably has just as good of driver support as
Creative
Labs,
if not better. I know if has all of the latest Windows XP drivers which can take
advantage
of all
the new Direct X 8.0 features. You can check it out at their
website.

Subject: [xl7]Hey, this is a bit off-topic for this group, but I think there are quite a few knowledgeable folk in here, so here is my question.. I'm shopping for 24/96 audio cards. What in your opinion is the best one? I don't need more that 4 inputs, probably even 2 would work fine, but hey.. more is better. Midi would be nice, but not necessary. Definitely need 1/4 inch jacks, don't need mic pre-amps. Are the USB boxes (M-Audio, etc.) good, or glitchy? Any insight would be grand!
Thanks in advance,
Mike
