As I feared would happen one day, our IT department has told me that I'm
receiving too many non-work related emails on a daily basis and I must do
something immediately to fix this. While this list is not super active
right now, combined with some other smaller lists I'm on, it's adding to
my problem, and therefore I must regretfully end my participation here
(after tomorrow) if I wish to keep my job.

It's been a lot of fun getting to know the XX-7's inside and out, and
working with many of you to help resolve the issues you occasionally run
across. Huge thanks to Aaron and Sean W. for all the support and gear,
and to Ed Mann for all his helpful recommendations (still doing those
Hanon exercises daily!). I'm sure I'll still 'run into' a lot of you
online, it's amazing how many familiar names I see as I troll the forums
online.

If anyone needs to contact me, I can be found via my website at:

http://www.soundclick.com/innerportal

I hope you all find/found the FAQ's and "Tips and Tricks" documents I did
useful, and that you all continue to support Emu and the excellent gear
they make. Best of luck to all of you in your musical endeavors, I shall
raise a glass (probably a few!) in your honor tonight!

Why don't you do what I do.....monitor your email (such as yahoo, hotmail, earthlink, etc) rather than directly receiving the email. This way you are looking at a whole page of web based emails and do not increase company email traffic....

I noticed while I was in Sweden with my XL-7, it ran hot on 220v. After a while, I could not keep it on my lap while programming. In the US where I operate the unit normally on 110v., it rund cool. As there are no cooling vents on the unit, I would expect long term use at 220v. will shorten the life of the components. A small 220v. to 110v. transformer/converter costs as little as $8.00USD and might be worth the investment (even if it costs a bit more and with shipping) if you keep the unit on all the time as I do......

Hey, thanks everyone for the prompt answers. I'm running a test now about warmth with 220 / 110 V settings.

I've been running the XL7 all this time at 220, and i'm wondering if that's healthy or not.

Presets are NOT stored with the Pattern. Presets are completely

-->Let me make this even MORE confusing. :) Tweaks ARE stored with the

pattern. :) Any knob twiddles are kept in the pattern (and song). And I

haven't tried any sysex in my tracks yet, but can't you store sysex

  within the patterns?

But yes, He's right to clarify that the preset itself is not stored in

the pattern, but a preset location (think PATCH CHANGE) is.

Because it would be very obvious that I was not working then. We have
zero privacy in my new area at work. At least if someone walks by and
sees me in Lotus Notes, there's a reasonable chance it's work related.

Sorry man, hopefully once things calm down here, I'll be able to resub....
