The sequencer has several menus that affect these. I am not in the same location as my gear, so this is from memory. (1) To send a patch change command via one of the E-Mu's midi port, the track destination must be ext [external]. (2) To add a patch change command to a track, use the sequencer's event editor [prog]. I am not familiar with the SP-505, but I assume in order to prevent its patterns from playing, you have to make sure the e-mu's midi transport commands (eg, start) don't reach the SP-505. My instints tell me you probably need to this on the SP-505 side.
