Same here, does seem to be a bit crazy to of not included some kind 
of memory card back up for your seq's and prest data.
No experience with the flash ram..

Might need a clean with some contact cleaner. Ive had problems with 
encoders before that start acting randomaly. Clean them up and the 
problem vastly improves (if its not physically damaged)  
Could even be a dry joint on the pcb.
My encoder works fine using v2.0.
The USB socket on my main board wasnt soldered correctly, it would 
flop around when you moved the cable. Its fine now.
Clean it first and see if it improves.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
